You can not leave Barcelona without spending time on a rooftop bar! I mean it's in the name! Bar-celona 😉 Ohla and Ayre Hotel Rosellón are two of the best places to go to.
What a view we had from those rooftops, amazing! If you are planning to go to Barcelona, you definitely have to visit these two.
1. Rooftop bar Ohla Barcelona
Say Hola to Ohla!
Sipping wine or a cocktail with some lovely music at the pool with an amazing view over Barcelona. Isn´t that a dream! For me it definitely was. We went here on a Sunday around 3 PM and there were only 3 other couples, which means the best places to pick to watch the beautiful sight.
The bar on top of the hotel has very chill and laid-back vibes, which was a good escape from the buzzing Barcelona center.
You have a stunning view over the cathedral, the Teleférico del Puerto (the Cable Car over the sea), and Montjuïc (all places you have to visit).
The hotel is located close (5 minutes walk) to the Cathedral. They serve all kinds of good drinks. Below you can find the full pdf of the menu.
My mocktail called Picasso was to die for. I would just go back to have that drink. It contains strawberry, mint, vanilla, and soda, yummy!
We did not make a reservation, we could just walk up and order a drink. Yet I do recommend you to make a reservation, just in case, it will be crowded. You do not want to miss this place, just because you did not make a reservation!
Address:
Via Laietana, 49
08003 Barcelona
2. Ayre Hotel Rosellón Barcelona
The second rooftop bar has just as amazing views as the first one I mentioned.
Here you have a direct view of the majestic Sagrada Família. Every time I see this building, I am in awe of how beautiful it is, even after 8 months of living here.
This is another terrace where you can chill, enjoy your drink, and be amazed by how beautiful Barcelona looks.
Food & drinks
The prices are just like the ones at Ohla, not really cheap. We paid for 2 drinks and 1 nacho bowl 20,50 euro. This time I had a piña colada mocktail, which was also delicious! There is a little cute van on the terrace, where you can order your drinks and food.
Reservations
I do recommend you to make a reservation beforehand. We went on a Friday around 2 PM and there were not many people around (maybe 5 couples). However, just because I made a reservation, we had the best place for the view.
The hotel is located 2 streets away from Sagrada Família. If you take metro L5, it´s only a 4 minutes walk.
Address:
Carrer del Rosselló, 390,
08025 Barcelona
Differences between the 2 terraces:
- At Ohla you have a view over the amazing cathedral, city center, Montjuïc and the sea.
While at Ayre you have a stunning view over the whole city, Sagrada Família, Montjuïc, the famous W hotel, and the sea. - At Ohla you can find a pool to chill in and they play relaxing music
- At both hotels, you don´t have to make a reservation beforehand, but I still recommend you to do it. Maybe once the Corona situation is over, it might get busier
- Prices are equal. Not the cheapest drinks, but you can expect that. Cocktails are around 15 euros. Both mocktails I had were tasty.
Are you planning to go to one? Awesome, let me know how it was in a comment below!
