Like every year, am starting to wonder about what that year will bring me. Work, personal, but also travel wise. Which places would I like to visit and will it even be possible? Let's dream away!
What to expect in this article:
Looking back at 2025
Every year I try to write an article about my travel plans, also in 2024. I will quickly look back at the destinations I wrote down and where I went.
In 2024 I said that in 2025 I wanted to visit these destinations: Taiwan, Hong Kong, Oman, Iceland, Copenhagen (Denmark), Volendam (The Netherlands) & Pondicherry (India).
Luckily for me, I got to visit at least 3 out of the 7 destinations (yay!) and also a whole lot of other destinations that I did not expect to visit 🙂
Here is a list of my visited destinations for 2025:
- January: Hong Kong, Macau (China) and Taiwan
- March: Manchester (United Kingdom)
- April: Tunisia
- May: Antwerp & Dinant (Belgium)
- July: Veluwe (the Netherlands)
- August: Switzerland & Liechtenstein
- September: Sevilla & Malaga (Spain) again!
- November: Copenhagen (Denmark)
Pondicherry & Kerala (India)
The first trip of 2026 will be Pondicherry in India. I have been here often, as my boyfriend lived there. Read here all the articles I wrote about this amazing city.
In 2026 we want to visit his previous hometown again, to visit his family and friends. It has been 1.5 years then, since he last has seen them!
Pondicherry is a place that is in my heart, as it is just so beautiful. Colorful houses, beautiful nature, amazing restaurants and cafeterias and lovely people of course. Let 2025 come fast so that I can visit my second home town again.
Check out my Pondicherry Guide for more information.

Paris (France) & Copenhagen (Denmark)
Paris and Copenhagen in 1 sentence? Why? Well, because my boyfriend and I are invited to two weddings in the same week, one in Paris and one in Copenhagen. How fun!! That means we have to make a clear schedule of when to go where. The wedding in Paris will be hosted by a cousin, so my whole family is attending. Secretly, I hope we can visit Disney Park with everyone... I mean, it’s one time that my whole family is all together in Paris. Let’s hope 🙂
I also find it funny, that we just visited Copenhagen in November and we both loved this city, and now, next year we will probably go again 🙂

Oman!
It is finally happening! I booked tickets to Oman 😀
It has been on my list for many years and it came back almost every year as a place I want to visit. Why do I want to visit Oman so badly? Probably because some years ago, I met a lady who also wanted to go and we actually started planning everything. Unfortunately, we did not go then, as we found out everything might be closed during Ramadan and we did not like that at the time.
Now we are actually going, and it will be after visiting India. I am tooo excited! Muscat, Wadis, desert… we will do fun stuff!
Edinburgh & Manchester (UK)
In 2025 we also visited Manchester, as my sister has been living there for 2 years. So in 2026, I would love to visit her again, of course! Hopefully, we get to visit some places around Manchester.
Next to that, I have a friend who’s living in Edinburgh. In 2019, I last visited her, which is too long ago. Edinburgh is on my list of favorites cities in Europe and I would love to show this city to my boyfriend, but also visit my friend again.
Have you ever been to Edinburgh? The castle on top of the hill makes the city so magical, I feel like I am walking in a Harry Potter studio...
Serbia
Serbia? Yes Serbia! A very underrated country, which is why it has been on my list for long. My boyfriend met someone from Serbia while living in Spain and is a fan since then as well. Mostly, I am interested in the fascinating history (hello World War) and its gorgeous nature. I have seen videos of Belgrade and it does not seem like a very pretty city, but that does not matter for me.
As I have been to most countries in Western Europe, the Balkan region is high on my list. Macedonia, Albania or Montenegro, but even Serbia. Let’s hope I can go here next year!
Now let me know what YOUR plans are for 2026!
